From 26 November 2012 to 6 January 2013 the online community had a chance to dedicate and share their “Labour of Love” story on NTUC Membership Department’s Facebook page.
Fans, regardless of whether they NTUC members or not, were invited to upload their interpretation of “Labour of Love” on Facebook and photos with the most number of votes stood to win prizes. Weekly prizes were also given away for photo submissions and voters.
At the Prize Presentation ceremony on 6 March 2013, NTUC Competency Director (Membership) Vivek Kumar shared that the concept behind the “Labour of Love” campaign is to showcase how the Labour Movement is always doing its best to be of help to its members.
The top three winners of the contest were present to receive their prizes at the ceremony and they were elated to be the winners.
A total of 275 photos were submitted to the Labour of Love contest and the campaign generated more than 9,810 new fans and “Likes”.
First prize winner and NTUC member Madam Joanna Heng submitted a photo of her family (pictured) and it garnered 315 votes and more than 1180 views. She said: “I posted our family photo because my 15-month-old son is my labour of love. Without him our life is incomplete.” She was very happy to win an iPad mini which she will use to download some educational apps for her son.
