27th FDAWU/NTUC/SHA Productivity Seminar Cum "Employee Of The Year" Awards Presentation Ceremony

1 The National Trades Union Congress (NTUC), the Food, Drinks and Allied Workers’ Union (FDAWU) and the Singapore Hotel Association (SHA), have jointly organised the 27th Productivity Seminar cum “Employee of the Year” Awards Presentation Ceremony on 5 June 2009
2 Held at the Parkroyal on Beach Road, a total of 49 employees from various service sectors were presented the "Employee of the Year" awards for their outstanding service contributions. Each awardee received a customised “Employee of the Year” pin and a certificate of appreciation from the Guest-of-Honour, NTUC Deputy Secretary-General Heng Chee How
3 The 49 award recipients range from age 22 to 68 have demonstrated that even in this economic downturn, providing good service is paramount. Their exemplary service in their different areas of work and duties have helped their hotels to build customer loyalties and result in more return customers
4 In conjunction with the awards ceremony, a Productivity Seminar was also organised for management and the union to come together to share creative ways of strengthening service value links with the ultimate goal of improving productivity. This year, the Productivity Seminar took the form of an interactive session on “Riding out the Downturn”. The speaker, Mr Bentley Williams, is the Principal Consultant of Bentley Williams Consulting and the author of “Wow! – Giving your customers ‘The WOW Experience’” TM to grow your business”. The event drew some 140 participants.
