A total of 21 organisations and six individuals were recognised for their fair and progressive employment practices during the Tripartite Alliance Award 2021 presentation ceremony, organised by the Tripartite Alliance for Fair and Progressive Employment Practices (TAFEP).
The ceremony was held on 16 August 2021.
The award is given to exemplary organisations that have effectively implemented fair, responsible and progressive employment practices, as well as individuals who have been instrumental in the creation of a fair and progressive workplace culture.
Tripartite Alliance Limited Chairman Stephen Lim described the award as “an extraordinary award for extraordinary employers in extraordinary times”.
He said: “Our award winners continued to press ahead with their progressive employment practices even when faced with challenging circumstances and COVID related disruptions. It is a valuable reminder that fair and progressive employment practices are important, not just during good times, but also during challenging times.”
Manpower Minister Tan See Leng, who was the guest of honour at the ceremony, commended the awardees for collaborating with stakeholders, employees and unions to secure the success of their businesses and employees alike.
“This is a good reflection of how tripartism has become a competitive advantage for our nation,” said Dr Tan, who is also the Second Minster for Trade and Industry.

The winning individuals of the Tripartite Alliance Award 2021 are as follows:
The award includes a holistic assessment of an organisation’s employment practices and recognises differing strengths in age inclusive practices; fair and progressive employment practices; responsible best sourcing; work-life excellence.
The number of organisations nominated by their employees or unions for the award this year was 181 – some 20 per cent more from the 152 nominations in 2018.
Out of the 21 organisations nominated, 11 of them were small and medium enterprises. According to TAFEP, this shows that that all organisations can be progressive, regardless of size.
Meanwhile, Dr Tan also took the opportunity to announce the set up of the Tripartite Collective.
Supported by Temasek Foundation and Tripartite Partners, it is a new membership-based set-up comprising members from tripartite partners as well as representatives from academic, legal and media communities.
The Tripartite Collective will commission research studies, as well as organise open dialogues, cross-sharing sessions, regular engagements and capability development programmes – allowing members to have a shared understanding on the role and importance of tripartism in Singapore.
“I encourage our tripartite partners, Tripartite Alliance Award recipients and Human Capital Partners to support this initiative,” said Dr Tan.
