Key strategies and new tools

  1. Industry redevelopment
    • Working with partners to bring industry wide adoption of business & manpower practices in key sectors (e.g. Security, landscape, environment and conservancy)
    • Objective is to impact more workers
    • Practices include best sourcing and customer centric initiatives (CCI) and other job re-creation initiatives
       
  2. Job re-creation
    • Redesign and re-create jobs to increase the skills content and job worth
    • Prepare the workplace to receive workers.
       
  3. Placement & upgrading
    • Prepare workers to take on (re-created) jobs via skills upgrading and reskilling.
    • Help workers get their current competencies nationally certified and recognized to enhance their employability.
       
  4. New initiatives
    • Continue to toll out innovative programmes such as Employability Camp Plus (EC plus) to enable workers with bigger employability gaps to better secure employment

JRP focuses on the following:

  • Increase Skills Content of Jobs
  • Increase Skills Level of Workers
  • Redesign Jobs, Redefine Industry Practices
  • Professionalize the Industry, etc

72% received assistance to be prepared for, and placed in re-created jobs. 28%progressed to earn higher pay as they were upgraded, and became more competent to take on bigger job roles.
